Ethereum mining software

Profitability and hardware have already been described, so now it's time to look at Ethereum mining software. Here, there are are three important things to consider: the operating system, your skills, and the ethereum mining software itself.

Which operating system should you choose?

When deciding which operating system to use for ethereum mining software, there are three main candidates: Windows, Linux, and ethOS. Mac OS fans may be disappointed, but although this is a possible option, it is not recommended for many reasons.

If you are familiar with Windows and have no Linux experience, it is best to stay with the Windows platform. But if you want to run six GPUs, Windows 10 is recommended because it provides natural built-in support.

However, some configuration tweaks are required in Windows 7 & 8. If you like command-line systems and mining is your rig’s sole function, then ethOS is also worth considering.

In addition, Windows offers the benefits of universal support and generally better overclocking tools. Furthermore, access via TeamViewer is an absolute breeze. It can be slightly tricky to set-up, but this can be overcome, especially if GPU optimization is not required.

You can mine ethereum as a hobby via a desktop PC using MinerGate software.

ethOS is a slimmed-down version of Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 to be precise) designed to process ethereum (and some other cryptocurrencies). Not only is it incredibly easy to set up, it's also simple to use and maintain – no wonder it is one of the most common Ethereum mining software.

It also performs more efficiently than Windows. One disadvantage is that you will not be able to use your rig for anything other than mining. However, that is all that most miners will require.

In addition, remote access is only possible through an SSH interface, so you won’t have the use of a GUI. Nevertheless, it’s a good choice for $39.

Some mining enthusiasts swear that Linux is the best operating system for mining. While this used to be the case, there is more disagreement on this issue than ever before.

While many prefer Windows, Linux has its advantages and has the benefit of being a much leaner system. In addition, Windows usually has a certain price tag involved. So if you are looking for a free option, Linux would be a better choice.

Ethereum mining software

As in real mining, you can mine ether using various tools, and thus discover the best ethereum mining software. Each software package has evolved over the years, though some have evolved more than others. But when it comes to mining ethereum, the main contenders are Claymore and Genoil.

Geth is the original software developed by the ethereum team. So if you want to mine on your own, this would be your best option. It is also simple and easy to use. You can also create a wallet – but use the Mist Ethereum Wallet instead if you prefer a GUI option.

MinerGate is not recommended if you are planning a dedicated mining rig. However, it's perfect if you just want to mine as a hobby with an existing computer.

You will pay a fee, but the GUI is easy to use and, once installed, you can start mining instantly. If you prefer even more simplicity, then NiceHash is also a very solid option.

Genoil is a constantly evolving and well-optimized ethereum miner. It runs smoothly and will allow you to work very quickly.

There used to be a couple of problems with DAG generation, but that was quickly resolved after a few tweaks. If you just want to mine ethereum, then the Genoil Ethminer is a strong option.

Many professional miners have found that Claymore als Ethereum mining software, is the most robust application and the best all-round miner. It's easy to set up, and there's never any problem with it. In addition, it boasts lots of extra functionality (such as fan management) which is not found in the other miners.

Claymore can also mine two coins at once, which some mining professionals find very useful. And, of course, dual mining will potentially enhance your income. There have been reports that this miner can generate an additional income of between 3 and 10 percent.

The Claymore dual miner will allow you to extract ether using a GPU. It works with most modern Nvidia and AMD graphics cards and allows you to mine coins using the Dagger-Hashimoto algorithm: Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Weite (EXP), Musicoin (Music) and Ubiq (UBQ).

Claymore's dual-mining mode allows you to produce two different currencies simultaneously without incurring a significant loss of speed.

Claymore miner options

You can choose one of four supported options as a second coin: Decred (DCR), Siacoin (SC), LBR (LBC), and Pascal (PASC). This Ethereum mining software is easy to configure, even for those who lack advanced PC skills.

And a fully translated configuration file in many languages simplifies this task even further. Experienced users can access an impressive range of settings.

These useful additional options include a built-in web server for remote monitoring and farm management. However, it is often easier to use the TeamViewer (provided you have no more than two or three mining rigs).

If you are happy to apply graphics card overclocking, you can increase your production revenue by 15 to 30%.

Passive income through Masternodes
Editor's recommendation: The Masternode Pool Club GetNode is the only provider of its kind. GetNode allows its members to participate in a unique masternode pool that is already over 100 Bitcoin in size. Through active management of the pool and constant purchase of new masters, GetNode has achieved very good results. So who ever wanted a passive income through Masternodes , here is the change. With a minimum of 1000 Euro or 0.2 Bitcoin a quick start is possible. The deposit can be made via Bitcoin or Euro. The payment is made automatically every two weeks via Bitcoin. We are even invested in GetNode with 1.2 Bitcoin and so far we are very satisfied with the results.
